IGI Model 1700 water seepage measurement system has a force transducer, float assembly, and screened outer casing. This system is used in conjunction with a weir. The force transducer measures the upthrust of water on the float and is calibrated in terms of mm of water column. It thus provides the reading of the weir in mm remotely.

The head of water is multiplied by a constant depending upon the type of weir to get the rate of flow of water in liters per second.

The force transducer is supplied with integral cable and air vent tube both of which terminate in an airtight junction box with desiccant.
